VooPoo Drag S and Drag X Pro Kit Review
The much-anticipated upgrade to the legendary VooPoo Drag S and Drag X is here! There’re significant changes that take these devices to the next level. Whether you’re a vaping enthusiast or a beginner, these devices have so much more to offer. Let’s take a closer look!
Coils last well
Still room for improvement on upgraded battery door
Auto-draw system on VooPoo Drag S Pro could be more sensitive
The VooPoo Drag X Pro and VooPoo Drag S Pro are both solid, metal devices with leather-effect surrounds and a nicely indented fire button. Weight is enough to give a quality feel without being too heavy. The VooPoo Drag X Pro can be used with either 21700 or 18650 battery and it has had an upgrade to the problematic battery door which has helped, but it could still be better. The screen is bright and clear, and all the necessary information is easy to read.
Both kits come with the new TPP-X pod which holds 2ml of e-liquid. Simply push the black button on the side of the pod and rotate the ring to the left. This will reveal a rubber tab; lift it up and fill. Pop the tank back on the device with that pleasing magnetic clunk!
To say that the announcement of these two devices had us very excited would be a serious understatement! We were lucky enough to get a pair of sample kits and we got stuck in straight away.
The Drag Pro range comes with the new TPP-X pod, 2 coils (0.15Ω VooPoo TPP DM1 Coil & 0.2Ωf VooPoo TPP DM2 Coil), USB-C charging cable and user manual.
So, what’s actually new? Quite a lot!
Let’s start with the basics. Users can now switch on with one button press but the 5-clicks method is still there too. The new chip promises to improve overall performance by 30% with bigger clouds and better flavour. Other notable technical wizardry includes the addition of a boost circuit which lets the voltage remain stable even when the battery level is low as well as heating the coil faster.
The airflow control rotates infinitely and includes a hole for MTL (mouth to lung) vaping. The resistance is just right and when you find your sweet spot it stays there. The type C USB charging works great; and can charge the device to 100% in just 60 mins which is very impressive.
Another big addition is auto-draw. This is something I’m glad to see as when you get used to auto-draw with other devices it seems strange when you use one that doesn’t offer the function! Generally, it works very well but some users find the system wasn’t as sensitive as they would like especially with the VooPoo Drag S Pro.
The new VooPoo Drag Pro Range strikes a great balance between being a Pro device and being very easy-to-use. Smart mode lets anyone start vaping straight away with the device setting the optimal wattage automatically. For those who like to customise their vaping experience, the VooPoo Drag Pro devices are compatible with 10 different coils and the VooPoo Drag X Pro can fire up to 100W (Drag S Pro 80W).
Flavours are bold and clouds get big & dense, especially with the 0.15Ω coil. If torn between the 2 devices, go for the Drag X Pro. It’s only 1cm taller and when the battery eventually dies, you can simply pop in another and keep rocking.
At Ziggicig, we carry 4 colours of each Drag Pro: black, blue, red and orange. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
